Why are all the duolingo characters gay

There are two reasons for this. First, Duolingo believes deeply in diversity and representation. This made it a no-brainer to include all types of characters of different ages, ethnic backgrounds, and sexual orientations. Of the main characters Lin, Bea and Oscar have all been shown to have same-sex relationships. Lin, a genderqueer lesbian character, has made a big difference in Duolingo’s language learning content. By showing a diverse and relatable character, Duolingo shows it cares about inclusive content.

I’ve finished the first three sets of ten stories and so far this is the only one that’s explicitly gay. But there are SEVENTEEN sets and I see no reason why there can’t be more of this much.
